The gel layer of a fiberglass pool is non-porous and does not alter the chemical balance of the pool. This non-porous layer stops the development of ALGAE and reduces the amount of chemicals required. Any algae can easily sweep off with a brush. Maintenance is typically less than 1/2 hour a week.

Since the water only needs to circulate about 4-6 hours daily in a fiberglass pool, it is more energy efficient than concrete or liner pools.
